Unlocking the potential of energy efficiency and renewable energy

District Energy in Cities Initiative-led Study Tour of Copenhagen

District Energy in Cities in partneship with Danfoss, Copenhagen Centre for Energy Efficiency, and State of Green will host a study tour in Copenhagen for partners and government officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, China, Colombia, India, Malaysia, Morocco, and Serbia. 

The tour will begin with the HOFOR, the largest utility company in Denmark, district cooling utility in Copenhagen which provides cooling through the innovatie application of seawater. The group will then walk (10mn) to Danfoss's offices in Copenhagen where they will learn from the Danish green transition and about Danfoss and State of Green. The tour will end with a visit to Denmark's largest waste-to-energy plant, Vestforbraending.

Throughout the tour participants will be introduced to modern district energy systems, including multi heat and cool source operations, combined heat and power, use of excess heat, the modern technology applied as well as associated management and business models. Lunch will be provided during the full-day tour.

State of Green is a public-private partnership founded by the Danish Government, the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Energy Association, the Danish Agriculture & Food Council and the Danish Wind Industry Association.
